Bridget B. Barrett

Senior Counsel

()

Ms. Barrett is Senior Counsel and the founder of our Corporate Services team, serving clients all across California from her office in Santa Monica. She has been in-house counsel in the technology sector, external advisor to businesses, and in private practice serving clients in traditional, technology, Internet, media, renewable energy and sustainability practices industries for over two decades.

Having begun her career in business litigation and progressed to an in-house position before creating her current practice, Ms. Barrett is uniquely positioned to find the critical balance between the corporate attorney's dual functions as risk manager and enabler of her clients' businesses. Prior to joining Drummond & Associates, Ms. Barrett was a co-founding partner in the San Francisco law firm Alliance Counsel LLP, where she managed the legal concerns of many varying kinds of businesses. She previously served as the Director of Legal Affairs for Everdream Corporation (acquired by Dell Inc.), overseeing the legal aspects of the technology company's business as its chief in-house counsel and a member of its senior management team. Before joining Everdream, Ms. Barrett was Senior Associate at the former litigation firm of Lukens and Drummond. There she acted as the primary associate attorney in complex litigation matters relating to contract disputes, antitrust laws, unfair business practices claims, environmental regulation, insurance claims, real estate financing and securities litigation.

Ms. Barrett continues to enjoy the challenges presented in both the corporate and litigation spheres. In addition to her corporate practice, she supports the firm's complex commercial litigation team.

Ms. Barrett received her J.D. at Georgetown University Law Center in 1995. During her studies at Georgetown, she served as clerk to the National Association of Broadcasters in their capacity as legal advisors and advocates for the radio and television broadcast industry, and authored a legal reference for the Association's members. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she was admitted to The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and graduated with honors with a B.A. in Journalism in 1992, after only three years of study. Ms. Barrett is currently licensed to practice law in California and admitted to the State Bar of Maryland, and has been admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Northern and Central Districts of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
